A sick boy...

Hi All,

Just had a second to post, as you can tell by the title Kaden is sick. He started a couple days ago with a cough and runny nose. We summed it up to allergies. Yesterday afternoon he started running a low fever and by today he was coughing constantly, had green goop coming from his eyes and nose, and his fever was higher. We took a trip to see Dr. Hood and the verdict is a double ear infection!! :( He is pretty pitiful, fussy, and just miserable. He won't eat but is drinking so that is good. Here are some pictures I took of him earlier today watching Movers... that is all he did, just laid there and watched!

On a good note, Rachel's middle school team ended their regular season last night... undefeated! They will play in the conference tournament next week.

It's been 3 years!!!

Hi all,

Ken and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary yesterday.. we had a great day! We kicked it off with a gyno appt... what a way to celebrate!! We then had lunch at Ken's favorite BW3's, and then Ken took me shopping- can't make me much happier! :) We shopped and shopped, it was a great time. Kaden spent the day with Aunt DeDe. We came home and went to Rachel's game, they won . One last game of the regular season is tomorrow night. Hopefully they stay undefeated! After her game Ashton came out to keep the kids while Ken and I had a late dinner- it was a great cap to a wonderful day!
Swimming lessons Monday went great. He really loves them. He even jumped in from the side  to me from the side several times! Again, he was the loudest kiddie there. Rachel went with us and I think he kept her in stitches with his antics! We tried on life jackets and he loved just floating around. Here are some picures.

Hope all is well with you and yours!

Beautiful Weather

Hi all!

As you can tell by my lack of posting we have been out and about enjoying the beautiful weather. Here is a quick run down of our weekend... Friday night Kaden and I headed to Mt. Washington, he stayed with Mimi and Poppie and I went out to dinner with my girlfriends. We had a great time and got to catch up and play with new baby Bryce!  Ken and Rachel headed to Cincinnati for a soccer tournament. Ken stayed up there with her Friday night and Saturday. They played 2 games and lost them both. :( Kaden and I stayed at my parents Friday night and we all headed back to Lexington Sat. morning for UK's Blue/White game. On our way there, traffic was terrible and we got rear ended but everyone was fine except a little soreness and we went on our way to the game. It was Kaden's first time at Commonwealth Stadium and for it being so hot and not really anyplace to run around he did pretty well. We stayed until halftime and then headed to lunch and shopping. Ken was home when we got home so we played outside a bit and then called it a night. Sunday I had Sunday school then went into Lexington to run some errands. When I got back we had lunch and then played outside all day. All of our cul-de-sac friends were out so we had a blast. Kaden swam in the baby pool and played in the water hose. We can't keep him inside or out of the water! We have our 2nd swimming lesson tonight, we can't wait. Kaden is napping now and then we are headed to get him a hair cut, his hair grows so fast. Rachel has 2 games this week, the last week of regular season soccer for her middle school team. They are still undefeated! We have played outside all morning and have been on 2 walks already. I can tell this summer is going to be lots of fun in the sun!! Hope all is well and you are all enjoying this weather- I know we are!

Ballet Time?

                                                               Watch this move Mom....
                                                                 I twist, I turn....
                                                            Ta Da!! Perfect 10--YAY!

So Ken took Kaden to Rachel's game the other night to give me a break. Since he was cold outside, he layered his clothes. These are some pictures I took after they got home and Kaden was prancing around.. we think he looks like a male ballerina!

We have a swimmer!

Well, the rain is gone.. at least for now. The wind is picking up and the forecast is calling for rain the rest of the day so we shall see. We had our swimming lesson last night, it went well and was a lot of fun. There are 5 other kids in our class. We started pouring water on him with a bucket to get him used to the water, which was no problem for him. Then we got in and tried to teach him how to blow bubbles but he wasn't really into it.  He kept getting water in his mouth and screaming "nasty" at the top of his lungs! He was by far the loudest and most excited kid there ?:)
Then he had to either kick or move his arms to get some toys that were floating around. He kicked a few times and got 3 toys. We worked on floating on his back and his belly, he was pretty good at that. We floated a lot last summer. Then we did the swimming version of "Wheels on the Bus", when it got to the part where "baby goes up and down" she said we could dunk them under, so of course we did, twice. He was surprised but didn't fuss at all. Overall we think he did really good and can't wait to go back next week!
Kaden now has an official play room. He had toys in about 3 rooms so we moved everything out of our dining room and now all of his toys are in one place. Of course, he only plays in there when I am not doing something he would rather do but I think he will learn to like it.
Rachel is supposed to have a game tonight but I am not sure if it rains all afternoon. Hope all is well with you all!

Rain, Rain Go Away!

Hello all,

We are so tired of this rain!! Poor Kaden doesn't understand, we played outside Friday and Saturday in beautiful weather and now rain! We had a wonderful weekend! We started playing outside Saturday at 9:30 and came in at 6!!! It was so much fun! Kaden already has scraped knees and legs from playing so hard. He helped Ken wash the car, played with Mimi and Poppie, we even enjoyed snow cones we made with my snow cone maker I won at Bunco last year! Sunday we had Sunday school then went out for lunch for Ken's Mom's birthday, it was fun. Kaden got pumped up on sugar thanks for his Aunts! :) We all came home and crashed the rest of the day. Rachel's game yesterday and today got canceled but so far Kaden's swimming lessons are still on! Ken will get to go too so hopefully I can get some pictures. It will be our first lesson! Here are some pictures from our lovely day outside Saturday, notice how Kaden gets wetter and wetter with each car washing picture!

Playing outside

Here are some pics I took of Kaden playing outside earlier today....

We love this weather!!

Happy Friday all-

I just had a quick second to post before we head back outside. Kaden is behind me yelling bye bye and outside. Not much to report here, Rachel won her game last night 2-0. She plays a big select league game this Sunday. Kaden has been loving all his new trucks and is into everything. We are looking for to tomorrow when Daddy and sister are home so we can play outside all day. Mimi and Poppie are coming for a visit too! Sunday we have a family dinner for my mother-on-law's birthday. That is about all we have planned. Hope you all get out and enjoy this beautiful weather. Here are some pictures of Kaden's new truck he got from the Easter Bunny and of Rachel and DeDe high lighting her hair-enjoy!

Hello All!

So, our swimming lessons were canceled due to the bad weather we had Monday night. We will start again next Monday. Yesterday Aunt DeDe came for a visit and we ate lunch and ran errands with her. We came back home and Debbie high lighted Rachel's hair for the first time. I couldn't believe Ken agreed to it but he did and it looks very nice. Very subtle and suitable for a 13 year old. Nothing drastic at all. We took Kaden's broken dump truck that the Easter Bunny brought him back and got a new one and you would think he was in heaven- trucks and cars of any kind are his new thing. The bigger the better! I will post some pictures. Rachel's game was canceled last night due to all the rain we have had and I had Bunco so Ken and the kids hung out at home. Ken works at noon today so nothing too exciting to report. I did get our Easter pictures uploaded finally-enjoy!

Happy Belated Easter!

Hello all!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter- we sure did! Back track a few days ago... I took Kaden to the doctor last Friday for his rash around his mouth. It turns out it is a yeast break out, what we thought it was all along. We got some meds and she said it will more than likely come and go until he stops chewing on things and such. But I was so excited to hear how much he weighed..... a whopping 23 lbs and 6 ounces!!! And wait- he stepped right up on the big boy scale all by himself! He was fully clothed so that weight may not be exact but just a month ago at his 18 month check up he was 21 lbs 1 ounce- talk about growing! Friday night and Saturday morning we just hung around the house and Saturday afternoon we meet Aunt Angie and family at the mall, saw the Easter Bunny, and then went and watched Amber play softball. It was a great but chilly time! Sunday morning we got up really early and headed to Mt. Washington for church, good food, family time, and a heated "big kid" egg hunt! We had a great time. I will post pictures later, when I downloaded them today they somehow ended up in the trash bin and I can't figure out how to get them out, Ken will have to do it when he gets off tonight. Kaden and I start swimming lessons tonight, so I will make sure and post late tonight or tomorrow and let you know how it goes!

Ready for the Easter Bunny!

Hi All,

So I have to take a second to brag about my smart little guy. The last 3 times he has went to sleep he has came up to me, taken my hand and said night-night and then taken me to the bottom of the stairs and pulled at the gate and said night-night. He lays right down and goes off to sleep. Awe!!! My baby is growing up so fast! I know what your thinking, time for #2... not on the way and not in the works! I am taking him back to the doctor tomorrow afternoon, his rash around his mouth is still there. We are seeing our favorite, Dr. Hood, we love her. I do not like the guy we had to see last time. Kaden's allergies must be flaring up again, he is coughing a bit especially when he lays down, last night he coughed a lot. Ken finally got up and dosed him for some Benadryl- it seemed to help. Rachel won her game tonight, it was the closest game they have had and she did get scored on but at least they won. Our house is filled with teenage hormones, so please pray for her and Ken (Kaden and I too) they seem to be at each others throats a lot. Some of the things she says to him... but we are told this is a phase they all go thru! I realized earlier tonight that we hadn't taken Kaden to get his picture made with the Easter Bunny yet, so I am going to take him after his appointment tomorrow. I can't believe it almost slipped by me!

Ken gets a deer!!

Ok so you read the title and you are thinking, I didn't know Ken was a deer hunter!! Well, he's not! He hit a deer last night coming home from Rachel's game. Really, it was more like the deer hit him. He said she just appeared out of no where and came charging towards the passenger window! He swerved to miss her but she must have been determined (or blind) to hit him. I think it scared Rachel to death! But the good thing is they were ok and he car can be fixed. Our neighbor was behind him and called to tell him that the doe got up and ran into the woods! Here are some pictures of our car, notice the deer hair!

I had my root canal this morning, and it wasn't too bad. I did tear up getting the shots, for some reason dental shots really bother me. I am good with most other shots but I hate those. Rachel won her game las night 4-0. They remain undefeated and have yet to be scored on! They have a big game tomorrow night. Kaden and I stayed home, it was too cold for us to get out. Kaden is as a funny as always, he said Bless You after I sneezed last night! He also has figured out that when you are on the phone that right after I love you, comes bye. I will be talking to Ken and telling him I love him and right before I say it Kaden will go BYE! He is such a smarty! Ken is heading to work here soon, tonight is his only night this week. They have been really busy. Hope all is well with you!

More pics from Gatlinburg/eating at big table...

Back and rested from a great trip!

Hi All,

What a wonderful trip we had to Gatlinburg! We left Friday morning and got back last night about 9:30. We got to do lots of fun stuff. We shopped, ate some great food, saw some amazing scenery, and rode some fun rides. We even got to see some soldiers finishing a 26 mile marathon in honor of a fallen soldier. It was nice to see everyone with flags cheering them on, no matter what their stance on the war was. Kaden waved his flag and cheered "Nice, guys" a few times! The place we stayed was right off the main strip in Gatlinburg and was perfect. It was so nice to get away even if it was only for a few days. The kids had a lot of fun and got a lot of new clothes for Spring/Summer. The weather was beautiful. Sunday I think it was 82 and I had Kaden in shorts! And now we are expecting snow and freezing tonight- Ken just got in from trying to cover up our newly bloomed tulips! I hope we don't lose them all. Tonight at dinner Kaden sat in his booster seat at the table for the first time. He did really good, he is a little short for it but he didn't complain. He is getting so big and can say pretty much anything you ask him to. Like tonight at dinner he dropped his piece of apple on the floor and I picked it up and he said.. "Nasty". Every time he finds something on the floor or mulch and tries to eat it we say Shoo, that's nasty! He just amazes me more every day, I am so blessed he is ours! Ken is off tomorrow and we are going to attempt to get back to the gym, we have gotten way off course with all we have going on. Hope all is well with you and yours.

More pictures...

Here are some of Ken and Kaden playing video games, Maggie and Rachel playing with Kaden and Kaden trying to get Daddy's gum!

So it's Coach Cal!!!!

Hello all,

Sorry to have missed a few days but I have to admit our eyes and ears have been glued to the TV, internet, radio and any other source for updates on the coach hiring process. We are so happy that Coach Calipari took the job to led the Big Blue Nation! I do have to give a shout out to Ken for picking it months ago. As it became apparent Billy Clyde wasn't the right fit in the Bluegrass Ken picked Calipari then! I am glad it is over so things (Ken) will be back to normal. We have also been on Spring Break this week which has been so nice not to be jammed packed with things to do. We have actually been able to eat dinner at home and play outside almost every night. I went to Mt. Washington today and used a massage gift my parents got me for Christmas- it was wonderful! Maggie and her friend baby sat Kaden while I went. I also got to go and visit Baby Bryce and Brandi. He is so adorable. I got to feed him and everything- it has been so long since I have fed a wee little one it made me a little nervous! Maggie came back to spend the night and tomorrow we are heading for Morehead to get hair cuts. Friday morning we are all leaving for a long weekend trip to Gatlinburg, we can't wait. That is about all I have to report. I have tons of new pictures to post, I have been snapping pics like crazy with our new toys. Here are some of our new landscape we had done earlier this week and of Kaden eating his new love- ice cream! Hope you are all having a great week!
