WOW, I think it has been a week since my last post. It's been a rough last few days in our house. I'll start where I left off last week. Ken was off Thursday - Sunday so we had lots of plans. We did some painting in the guest bathroom and painted part of our kitchen. Rachel was out of school Friday for the "frigid" temperatures so she was a great help with Kaden while we worked. She even helped strip some wallpaper! All was going great until Saturday morning. I got up and felt like I had been hit by a dump truck. I had been having some sinus stuff so I thought it was just drainage, took some medicine and felt ok. But was the day progressed I felt worse and worse. I was running a temperature and could barley swallow. I was sure I had the flu. Aunt Ashton came out to sit with the kids while Ken took me to the Urgent Care Center. The verdict was in, I had Strep throat. Now I haven't had strep throat in at least 5 years and I can tell you that when they say it is much worse as an adult, I can tell you that they aren't kidding!! I felt a bit better Sunday and we had some of our family on Ken's side over for football as the day and night progressed I felt much worse. Ken was off Monday morning and had to take Rachel to Louisville for a Hearing check up so it was just Kaden and I. My throat was so swollen I couldn't even get applesauce down so needless to stay empty stomach plus medicine equals THROWING UP!!! Ken ended up taking a sick day Monday night and Nannie saved the day by coming up and staying Tuesday and Tuesday night with us. Thank God she did because I was up all Tuesday night throwing up, I didn't get a wink of sleep and I am don't think Ken did either bless his heart. Ken said my tonsils were the size of golf balls and looked pretty nasty. I had for force myself to get half a piece of toast down Tuesday morning to take some medicine and got some rest and started to finally feel much better. I rested most of yesterday and last night and I feel close to a million bucks today!! I told Ken that I would rather have 5 more c-sections before I would go through that again, and I am not joking! It was awful!
Anyway, I am back to feeling normal and I have to say that I really have the best husband and family anyone could ever ask more. Ken took care of me, the kids, the house and managed to work!! Rachel was a huge help with Kaden was well, even telling Ken she would stay home from a friends house and help watch Kaden while he took care of me and did things around the house. I really am blessed with a great family!
Well, speaking of being back to normal it is lunch time around here and Kaden is sitting beside me letting me know about it too!
We want to wish Aunt DeDe a Happy Birthday today!
XOXO,
The Glass Family
